That's pretty much what happened. I think I remember it being the AOL people that diodn't want to be in the wrestling business and they pretty much forced Turner's hand. Yes. From all accounts, that is what I read. Yes there were backstage politics and what not, but, in that last few moments WCW was on the uphill climb back. They had new faces in the cruiserweight division and some mainstays like Scott Steiner, Jeff Jarrett, & Booker T to carry the load. Sting and Flair were there. If they moved Nitro to Tuesdays it would have done wonders.

AOL-Time Warner merger was a huge factor , and no wrestling on the network was also big. Ofcourse they made stupid decisions , but time heals all ...apparently
