Its true, they are a feeder league but Aries is stupid in pretending they havent always been that, hopefully guys can make a tiny bit of money there and develop so that when the move onto the WWE they make that product better for all of us

I honestly haven't been captivated by anything ROH-oriented since Sapolsky left. The TV show is fine, and some of their PPVs are great...But the company doesn't have the same appeal as it did when they had guys like AJ, Joe, Daniels, Homicide, AmDrag, Punk, & Aries on the roster.

I started getting into ROH around 2005 and I attended every show from 2008-early 2011 when they came to my area.
I got out of ROH right around when Sinclair took over. Actually, my last show was in Chicago Ridge when Cornette announced the sale to Sinclair broadcasting! Don't get me wrong, ROH still has the great work rate matches (as evident by Richards vs Elgin from earlier this month), but IMO it's just missing the intriguing storylines that used to keep me into it when Gabe (and even Pearce) had the book.
The Sinclair show also does it no favors with it's crappy timeslot and poor production. Sure, HDNET was not widely available, but the show was leaps and bounds above the current show.

Yeah watch out Aries, whenever TNA return to their (lack-of) senses they'll shit him back out and he'll need to come knocking on ROH's door.

Yeah watch out Aries, whenever TNA return to their (lack-of) senses they'll shit him back out and he'll need to come knocking on ROH's door. I don't think he would go back to ROH if that were to happen as he has had heat with ROH upper management which cause him to leave the promotion in late 2010. I could see him either going back to DGUSA as he is friends with Gabe or I could see him just all out retire as he contemplated doing last year after the WWE passed on him for Tough Enough.

Thanks for the info. That said carny wrestlers always leave this stuff behind when it's time to do business! what head does he have with ROH upper management? i'm glad he's in a bigger pond in TNA.

From what I've read it was a mixture of things. The main one I heard is that they didn't like his attitude in the locker room as he was said to have a "big ego,"and that he was very vocal on the way he didn't like where his character and the direction of the company were going.
When Pearce had the book it was said that a lot of Aries' attitude problems he had in the locker room kind of fell by the wayside since Pearce and Aries are friends. It was said that when Delirious got the book he couldn't wait to get rid of him and they opted not to renew his contract citing "budget cuts."

In WWE they have wrestlers posing as Superstars. ROH has wrestlers posing as MMA fighters. Be nice if a company like TNA could get its act together and just present a good wrestling product.

well, didn't get into roh until sapolsky was long gone, i think adam pearce was booking... love the product, all but i get aries' sentiments. i got the summer of punk dvd and the american dragon dvd... even old matches, just felt a little different... little more edgy or something, but roh now still has moments, steen generico feud was one of my favorites of all time

I don't disagree with him. Ironic how the past four years has seen the biggest growth period in the promotion's history, yet IMO the actual product has been on a downward slide since they booted Gabe.

Instead we get re-treads like Pritchard and "new" guys that book like the old guys (looking at you, Trips). I know a lot of people wanted Heyman to goto TNA...But honestly I think they could get similar results for half the price (and headaches) if they gave Gabe a call.
