He certainly didn't excel in the NFL. He was offered one of 6 spots on the Vikings practice roster, or a position in NFL Europe to hon his football skills. That's a massive accomplishment in the NFL considering he hadn't played since high-school. To say he didn't excel in the NFL is to not understand what he achieved int he first place. He's just a freak of an athlete, period.

That's still not really excelling . You can't excel at a sport if you don't really compete.
Anyway, Brock does what he wants and if he doesn't want to be there anymore, he'll leave. Even Meltzer seemed down on Brock, talking about how getting him to do press for UFC was like pulling teeth and the whole NJPW run was a disaster.

We have Daniel Bryan vs Sheamus in a Best 2 out of 3 Falls match. I wouldn't consider the rules of this match to be "Extreme". The rules are still the same, you just have to win twice.

Move on to something you have a better comprehension for. He competed against other seasoned football athletes for a spot on an NFL roster. Just because you don't play a game in the NFL doesn't mean you're not competing. >> Anyway, Brock does what he wants and if he doesn't want to be there anymore, he'll leave. These two sentences have nothing to do the with the other. True he does what he wants... what the heck does that have to do with speaking at a UFC presser? He's one of 6 athletes to sell 1-million PPV's twice in the same calendar year...and the ONLY MMA/pro-wrestler to accomplish that.

Maybe they could have it be Best 2 out of 3 Falls...Count Anywhere? ;D This is the problem with PPV's named after stip matches: Will every match warrant an 'Extreme' style match? If they decided to go with a more traditional Extreme Rules type of stipulation for the WHC match would it make sense? For Sheamus vs. Bryan it sure doesn't. The story is about Sheamus getting a cheap victory after AJ's distracting Bryan prior to the match, there's nothing there that justifies ramping up their feud to 'EXTREME' status. The same holds true for Cena and Brock. Nothing's happened yet that warrants an Extreme rules stip. That's the beautiful thing about normal PPV's, each match gets the framework it needs to further the story. Having a themed PPV like Extreme Rules presents the issue of forcing some feuds into frameworks that don't make any sense.

They seriously need to save Brock for Summerslam, maybe they think he will go nuts again and want to use him as much as they can beforehand.
Punk will drop the title at the PPV too. I think he traded a WM win with a loss in his hometown.

I really hope brock steam rolls through Cena at extreme rules, solidifying him as a monster heel, and possibly put Cena out of action for about a month or 2? Not necessarily having Cena off screen completely for a month or 2, but not have him wrestle, and have him play up the injury or beating he received from Brock. Then he can return for a summerslam rematch between the two.

Did he make it to the roster? Was he going to? Didn't seem like it. There isn't a mechanism that forces Brock to speak. This seems really easy to understand. Maybe you should move onto something else. And...? This has nothing to do with the discussion at all. I don't remember saying Brock wasn't a draw.

I'm intrigued to see how Lesnar - Cena pans out.
