i think they castrated the character that made punk super popular for a couple months... no one cares about a straight edge face or any of that, they should have kept him out 2-3 months, have a steady champion in his wake and let him return to claim what was rightfully his at rumble or something, it also didn't help having hhh bury for 2 straight months in their feud or whatever you wanna call it

Yeah the follow up HHH feud to me did more damage than changing the character around a bit. There was really never any hope that they would book a character long term based around the idea of him telling everyone how terrible they think the product is.

there were 2 or 3 days i was convinced punk was suspended and going to roh or njpw as a shoot... then i remembered why no one respects me for watching this and quickly fell down to earth

If we're looking at a dip in revenue in merchandise or PPV buys I have to wonder if it's CM Punk or a sluggish economy.
You could have CM Punk lighting up every show with five star matches and just knocking every promo out of the park but if it comes down to deciding whether or not I'm going to head to the gas station or buy the PPV I'm picking the gas station every time.
In fact, from a different perspective it could be suggested that Punk is doing an exemplary job, things could be much, much worse after all.

I don't blame Punk at all. They brought Punk back on TV way to soon after he had left. To keep the WWE Title on Punk this long is good by today's standards since the WWE tends to hot shot most titles. I would like to see Punk hold on to the WWE Title till Summerslam. Then again anyone other than Cena as champ is great by me.

the blame can go alot of ways maybe some to punk but alot of stops before you ever get to punk, nash and trips were probably 1,2

Since he went pro face its been a bit tiresome. Jericho has sprung some life back into Punks gimmick as I am looking forward to their match again

That the CM Punk expiriment was a failure? That shit made no money…no ratings movement..no extra ppv buys..nothing No ONE wrestler in 2012 can affect TV ratings or PPV buys, far to much entertainment out there. Its unfair to judge someone these days on such things, far more realistic judgement on a wrestlers success is crowd reaction, merchandise and even social networking But of course an old fashioned wrestling mind cant see past a PPV market which has been on downward spiral for 10 years. PS how do you know he is making them no money? do you have there financial reports?

the blame can go alot of ways maybe some to punk but alot of stops before you ever get to punk, nash and trips were probably 1,2 This sums it up perfectly.Punk was the hottest thing in years after MITB but the WWE got too greedy and bought him back too early. Then Mr "High and Mighty" (HHH) had to stick his big nose in much like he did when Randy Orton won the title off Benoit in 2004.It says a lot for how good CM Punk actually is,in that he has been able to reinvigorate his character after the Nash - HHH debacle.

sadly hes a watered down version of what he was. from shoot promos to calling johnny ace a "toolbox". im not really even too bothered about the y2j feud which i was looking forward to.
